1. Agreement to These Terms

These Terms of Service govern the relationship between Peterhanun Limited and any person or organisation that uses our website, requests a quotation, or orders document binding and finishing work from our bench room. By sending an enquiry, approving a quote or delivering pages to us, you agree to these terms.

Please read them before you place an order. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, do not use our services. Where a written contract signed by both parties conflicts with these terms, the signed contract takes priority for that job.

2. Definitions

In these terms, the words below have the following meanings. The Company, we, us and our refer to Peterhanun Limited. The Client, you and your refer to the person or organisation ordering the work. The Services means the document production, binding and finishing work described on our services page. Client Material means any pages, files, drawings, covers or other items you supply for the work. The Job means the specific binding run or runs set out in an accepted quotation.

3. Services We Provide

Peterhanun Limited operates a document binding and finishing bench room in Sheung Wan, Hong Kong. Our services include comb and wire binding, tender document assembly, training manual runs, lamination and foil finishing, same-day print bursts, and archive binding and boxing.

We describe each service on our services page. Descriptions are provided in good faith and may be refined as materials and methods develop. We may decline a job that falls outside our equipment, that carries a deadline we cannot meet, or that would require us to handle material we are not equipped to protect. We will tell you promptly if we cannot take a job.

4. Enquiries, Quotes and Acceptance

A quotation is based on the information you provide, such as page count, finished size, number of copies, comb or wire choice and the required date. A quote remains open for the period stated in it, or for fourteen days if no period is stated. A quote is an invitation to order and not a binding offer by the Company.

A contract is formed when you accept the quote and we confirm the production slot in writing. If the details change after acceptance, for example because the page count grows or the finishing changes, we may revise the price and the schedule and will confirm the revision with you before continuing.

We may ask for a deposit on large runs, on work involving significant material costs, or on jobs from a first time client. We will always state this before the work begins. A quotation does not reserve bench time on its own; only a written confirmation of the production slot holds the schedule for you.

5. Client Material and Files

You are responsible for the material you send to us. You confirm that you own or have the right to use every page, file, image, drawing and cover you supply, and that the content does not infringe the rights of any other person. You also confirm that you have the right to share any personal data contained in the material, as explained in our Privacy Policy.

Please deliver files in a format we can print accurately and pages in the condition we need to punch cleanly. Wet, torn, folded or oversized pages may need special handling, and we will tell you if a fault will affect the finish. We are not responsible for a poor result where the material supplied was unsuitable, and we may adjust our quote if the material requires extra work.

6. Collation and Instructions

Collation is the order in which pages are assembled before binding. Where you give a clear order, we follow it exactly. Where the order is ambiguous, we will ask before we punch. We recommend that you mark dividers, revision sheets and signature pages clearly and provide a page count for each section.

Once a run has been punched and bound, a change to the order usually means the job must be produced again from the start. You are responsible for the accuracy of the instructions you give, and any rework caused by unclear or later changed instructions may be charged as a new job. We keep the accepted order on the job ticket so that both parties can check it.

7. Deadlines and Same-Day Runs

We treat deadlines as commitments. A confirmed production date is the date we plan to have the finished documents ready for collection or handover to a courier. We schedule the bench around firm dates and we will warn you early if a date becomes at risk.

Same-day and short notice runs are offered when the bench has capacity. A same-day run is a print burst and skips cosmetic finishing such as foil blocking and special covers. We confirm what a fast run will include before it starts, so that no client mistakes a quick run for a fully finished presentation set. If we cannot meet a deadline, we will say so rather than accept work we cannot complete.

Deadlines are measured against the agreed production date and not against the moment a courier reaches your door. Where a third party carrier is involved, its own schedule applies after the documents leave the bench. For tender submissions we recommend that you allow a buffer of at least one working day between the production date and the submission deadline, so that an unexpected traffic or weather delay does not put the submission at risk.

8. Pricing and Payment

Our prices cover the labour, materials and finishing described in the accepted quote. Additional copies, extra finishing, expanded page counts and rush surcharges may change the total, and we will confirm any change with you before we proceed.

Unless we agree otherwise in writing, invoices are payable within the period stated on the invoice. We may charge reasonable storage for completed work that is not collected within thirty days of the agreed completion date, after giving you notice. Where a payment is overdue, we may suspend further work on open jobs until the account is settled. Any bank or transfer charges are payable by the Client unless we agree otherwise.

Prices are quoted in Hong Kong dollars unless another currency is stated. We may adjust prices to reflect a change in the cost of paper, comb stock or courier charges between the date of the quote and the date the materials are purchased, provided we tell you first and you agree to the revised total. Printed catalogues, samples and website figures are guides and are not a standing offer at the stated price.

9. Collection and Delivery

Finished documents may be collected from our bench room at Rm 1603 16/F THE L. PLZ, 367-375 Queens Rd C, Sheung Wan, Hong Kong (HK) during business hours, or delivered to an address you specify. Delivery timing depends on the courier and the location, and any stated delivery window is an estimate unless we confirm a fixed slot.

Please check the number of boxes or sets at handover and sign for the delivery. Once documents are accepted at collection or received at the delivery address, risk passes to you as described in section 10. If you ask a third party to collect on your behalf, we may ask for written authorisation naming that person.

10. Risk and Title

Physical risk in the finished documents passes to you when they are collected from our bench or handed to the courier for delivery. Risk in Client Material remains with you at all times, although we take care of it while it is in our hands. Title in the finished documents remains with the Company until the related invoice is paid in full, where the law allows such a reservation.

Where documents are lost or damaged in transit by a courier, our role is to help you pursue the courier claim. We will provide the dispatch records and any supporting information we hold. We are not the carrier and we do not control transit conditions.

11. Tolerances and Production Variance

Binding and finishing are physical processes, so small variations are normal and acceptable. A trimmed edge may differ by a fraction of a millimetre from the sample, a comb colour may vary slightly between production batches, and laminated or foiled surfaces may show minor marks that do not affect use. These variations are not defects.

Where a variation is material and makes the documents unfit for their purpose, tell us promptly and we will review it under section 12. Colour matching on covers and foils is done in good faith but cannot be guaranteed to match a previous batch exactly, because material lots differ over time.

12. Quality, Checks and Rework

We check every finished copy by hand before it leaves the bench, confirming the spine, the collation, the cover and the page count against the job ticket. If you believe a job does not meet the agreed specification, contact us within fourteen days of collection or delivery, with the job reference and a description of the issue.

Where a genuine fault is ours, we will reprint or rebind the affected copies at no charge, or refund the price of the affected copies where rework is not practical. Rework is our primary remedy. We are not responsible for faults caused by unsuitable Client Material, by instructions that were followed correctly but later changed, or by handling after the documents left our bench.

13. Intellectual Property

You keep all rights in the content you send us. By sending material, you grant us a limited licence to reproduce, punch, bind and finish it for the sole purpose of completing your job. That licence ends when the job is complete and our retention period has passed.

We keep all rights in our own website, text, design and photographs. You may not copy or reuse our website content for a commercial purpose without our written permission. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of your content to us or of our content to you.

14. Confidentiality

We treat every document as confidential by default. Only the people working on your job see the content, and only for the purpose of producing, checking and delivering the work. We do not disclose the content to any other party except as needed to complete the job, such as a courier, or where the law requires disclosure.

You agree to keep confidential any commercial information you learn about our prices, methods or suppliers that is not public. Where a document is especially sensitive, tell us at the order stage and we will apply additional handling notes to the job ticket.

15. Limitation of Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Subject to that, our total liability for any job is limited to the price paid for that job.

We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profit, lost opportunity, loss of goodwill or the cost of re-running a tender that missed a deadline for reasons outside our control. We are not liable for delays caused by a courier, by a supplier, by a public holiday, or by events beyond our reasonable control. You are responsible for keeping backup copies of all files and for allowing enough time for binding before a critical deadline.

16. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Peterhanun Limited against any claim, loss or cost arising from material you supplied that infringes the rights of another person, from personal data you did not have the right to share, or from instructions that caused us to produce a document that is unlawful or misleading.

This indemnity does not apply where the loss was caused by our own negligence or by our failure to follow the instructions you gave. We will tell you promptly about any claim and will work with you to resolve it fairly.

17. Force Majeure

We are not in breach of these terms where a delay or failure is caused by an event beyond our reasonable control. Such events include severe weather, typhoon warnings, a public health emergency, a power failure, a breakdown of essential equipment, a supplier failure, a transport disruption or an act of government.

If such an event occurs, we will tell you as soon as we can, explain the effect on your job and agree a revised date. If the event continues for a long period, either party may cancel the affected job, and we will account fairly for work already done and materials already purchased.

18. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or end work on a job if an invoice is significantly overdue, if instructions are unlawful, if material supplied is unsafe, or if a request would require us to act against the law or our professional judgement. We will explain the reason and give you the chance to put matters right where that is possible.

You may cancel a job before production begins, subject to payment for materials already ordered and time already spent. Once a run has been punched and bound, cancellation is not usually possible because the work cannot be undone. Any cancellation must be given in writing.

19. Governing Law and Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. The courts of Hong Kong have jurisdiction over any dispute, unless the law requires otherwise.

Before starting formal proceedings, we ask that both parties try to resolve a dispute by discussion in good faith. Write to reception@peterhanun.lat with the details and we will respond promptly. Many disagreements about collation, finish or timing can be settled quickly when the job ticket and the finished copies are examined together.

20. General Terms

These terms, together with the accepted quote and our Privacy Policy, form the whole agreement between the parties for the job. If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest continues in force. A failure to enforce a term on one occasion is not a waiver of that term.

We may assign our rights and obligations to another entity as part of a business reorganisation, provided the level of service to you is not reduced. You may not assign your rights under these terms without our written agreement. We may update these terms from time to time, and the version in force when you accept a quote governs that job. The updated terms will be published on this page with a new effective date.

21. How to Contact Us

Questions about these Terms of Service, a quote, a job in progress or an invoice are welcome at any time during business hours. Please quote your job reference so that we can find the record quickly.

This page should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how personal data is handled, and with our services page, which describes the work we carry out at the bench. Thank you for reading these terms and for choosing Peterhanun Limited for your binding and finishing work.
